Emergency Management - Staff Training
POLICY:
All hospital employees will receive specific training on their individual, departmental and hospital wide roles during an emergency, both internal and external.

PROCEDURE:
The Safety Officer with support from the emergency preparedness coordinator is responsible to schedule Emergency Management Training with each department manager for their respective departments.  It is the responsibility of the department manager to ensure attendance by their employees.  The Safety Officer with support from the emergency preparedness coordinator is responsible for the content of the training to ensure all employees know their roles and responsibilities as outlined in the hospital emergency management plan.  It is the responsibility of the Safety Officer with support from the emergency preparedness coordinator to work with the Department Directors to ensure this training covers all employees annually and obtain appropriate documentation.
